My name is Jessica Monte and I am from Brooklyn, NY. I come from an an Italian American family, and the values of family and religion are heavily enforced in our culture. I have an older brother who is a police officer and a younger sister who is in college pursuing nursing. I graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/ Childhood Special and General Education. St. Joseph’s College holds a popular reputation for its child study program and their ability to transform individuals into creative, hardworking teachers. I spent my sophomore and junior year of college in both private and public school settings. During my senior year of college I spent nearly 300 hours student teaching at P.S. 112. This consisted of both a general education population and a special education population; in which I would plan out lessons, work with other grade level teachers, and interact with the students as if they were my own class. This is my first year teaching and I am beyond excited to extend my knowledge, enlighten and challenge my students to the best of their ability!
